33rd Annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala

Event Description

The winners of all seven prize categories for this year’s BC Book Prizes, as well as the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence, will be presented at the 33rd Annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront in Vancouver. British Columbia’s Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC, will be in attendance.

A reception will commence at 5:30 pm and be followed by the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 pm. There will be a cash bar.

  • 5:30 pm—Open Reception for all attendees
  • 6:30 pm—Gala Dinner followed by the Awards Ceremony

Join us a few weeks prior to the official awards ceremony for the 14th annual BC Book Prizes Soirée, a free casual celebratory event to kick off the festivities at The Emerald in Vancouver on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

The Soirée celebrates all the nominated authors for the 2017 BC Book Prizes, as well as the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence (to be announced on April 4).

Enjoy complimentary appetizers and the cash bar while mixing and mingling with the nominees and BC’s vibrant literary community.

On Saturday, April 29, the winners of the 33rd Annual BC Book Prizes were announced. Now the BC Book Prizes Win the Winners Contest is back! Visit a participating bookstore starting May 14 and fill out an entry form for a chance to win a copy of each of this year’s winning books. There will be one prize package available to be won at each of the seven participating bookstores. Each prize package will include the following winning books:
