Event Description

On Saturday, May 3, the winners of the 30th Annual BC Book Prizes were announced. Now the BC Book Prizes - Win the Winners Contest is back! Visit a participating bookstore starting May 19 and fill out an entry form for a chance to win a copy of each of this year’s winning books. There will be one prize package available to be won at each of the seven participating bookstores. Each prize package will include the following winning books:

  • Anatomy of a Girl Gang by Ashley Little, winner of the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize
  • Arthur Erickson: An Architect’s Life by David Stouck, winner of the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize and the Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize
  • The Place of Scraps by Jordan Abel, winner of the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize
  • How To by Julie Morstad, winner of the Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize
  • The New Normal by Ashley Little, winner of the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize

Event Description

The winners of all seven prize categories for this year’s BC Book Prizes, as well as the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence, will be presented at the 31st Annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel. British Columbia’s Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC, will be in attendance.

A reception will commence at 5:30 pm and be followed by the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 (wine included) and After Party at 9:00 pm. The cash bar will be open all evening.

  • 5:30 pm—Open Reception for all attendees
  • 6:30 pm—Gala Dinner followed by Awards Ceremony
  • 9:00 pm—After Party
