Congrats to all honoured at Mayor’s Arts Awards last night

Yesterday, Mayor Gregor Robertson presented the 2010 City of Vancouver Mayor Arts Awards to valued members of Vancouver’s cultural community.

Everyone here at the BC Book Prizes wants to express our sincere congratulations to all those honoured. See a full list of honourees here.

Among those honoured were Brad Cran as Vancouver Poet Laureate 2009-2011, Rio Tinto Alcan for Support of the Arts (Business), Yosef Wosk for Support of the Arts (Philanthropy), and Evelyn Lau for Literary Arts.

For individual awards, such as Evelyn’s, the recipient then selected an emerging artist to share the award. Evelyn Lau selected Kaitlin Fontana, whose work has appeared in Event, Room, SPIN, Rolling Stone, and the Walrus, among many other publications.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the 2010 Mayor Arts Awards!
