Honoured BC Books

The Ontario First Nation public library community has honoured Sono Nis Press’ Which Way Should I Go? by Sylvia Olsen as the 2009 First Nation Communities Read selection.

The Chocolate Lily Awards for Young Readers has released its nominations for 2009. Included in the category of Novel/Chapter Book are Tradewind Books’ The Eco-Diary of Kiran Singer and Honey Cake, Orca Book Publishers’ I, Bruno, Lucky Mountain, Rebel’s Tag and Shadows on the Train, and Annick Press’ Baboon.

In the Picture Book category Greystone Books’ Boy in Motion and Orca’s titles Jeffrey and Sloth, Mechanimal and The Summer of Marco Polo have been selected.

Baboon by David Jones was a finalist for the 2008 Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize; and Jeffrey and Sloth by Kari-Lynn Winters and Ben Hodson was a 2008 finalist for the Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize.
